Main contribution to GAUSS:

 

EVADS will undertake GAUSS project coordination by leading WP1, will lead task the assessment and design of UTM infrastructure technologies (WP5) and will also coordinate the integration and exhaustive field trials in WP6, including the ethical hacking attacks and penetration tests. EVADS will be an essential asset due to its expertise in integration, tests and field operations. EVADS will support other tasks including project dissemination (WP7) EVADS will also have the key role of being in fact one of the target/end users of the technology developed within GAUSS and will ensure that results from the project reach its objectives and the solution complies with the highest industrial quality standards.

RINA-C will be in charge of GAUSS Signal Integrity & Security and other tasks of WP4. In this sense RINA-C will exploit its competences in the area of Security, Defence and Space and will bank on the results of previous GSA projects, GEO-VISION and LOGIMATIC.

IRI will act as technical coordinator of the project, and also will lead WP3 in which their expertise in previous projects in RPAS technologies and exploitation of Galileo-EGNOS in multi-constellations and sensor fusion solutions will be a key asset.

Main contribution to GAUSS:

 

ARATOS will lead the communication, exploitation and dissemination activities (WP7) which will produce one of the most important GAUSS outputs: The project Business plan. ARATOS will also lead the securisation of UTM related communications in the WP5 and ensure that all GAUSS developments are not only aligned with all legal and ethical requirements in WP2 but also foster the translation of GAUSS results in standardisation and regulatory recommendations.

Main contribution to GAUSS:

 

will lead WP5 in which it will be responsible for the development of the UTM Techonologies necessary for the safe operation of the system. Significant part of the effort will be devoted to the design of decision-making technologies and trajectory collision avoidance methods to increase safety and coordination capabilities. USE will also participate in the design and WP3: Unitary tests of the Position and Orientation System individual RPAS, in the design of manoeuvres to mitigate jamming, spoofing and hacking (WP4), and in the integration and validation (WP6).

 

Main contribution to GAUSS:

 

As an ATM and avionics expert, CU will lead the definition of UTM operational framework (WP2) to ensure that the GAUSS UTM Concept of Operations and UTM requirements are in perfect coordination with UTM definition and design initiatives within EC, SESAR, EASA, ICAO or JARUS among others. CU will also perform crucial WP6 tasks which will undertake performance results analysis and conclusions, field trials results will be analysed, compliance with project objectives will be assessed and regulatory and standardisation recommendations produced.

Satways Ltd. (STWS)

 

Main contribution to GAUSS:

 

STWS will have a key role in GAUSS WP5 by leading the development of on-board situational awareness infrastructure and performing UTM technologies unitary tests. On-board situational awareness technologies are a key UTM enabling technology that will allow cooperative Detect & Avoid and UAS coordination.

EVADS will provide the holistic perspective that the project demands from its coordinator role. Their broad experience not only in Consultancy and Project Management, but also in Unmanned Aerial Systems, Security and Cyberresilience and ATM, entitles EVADS as a relevant participant in the project and, at the same time, one of the endusers of the technology to be developed. In fact, EVADS is an major RPAS manufacturer with a wide portfolio of platforms in all categories, its own advanced flight control system (Veronte autopilot) and thousands of real operations flight hours.

Academic research centre with vast experience in participation of EU funded projects related to autonomous navigation in outdoor unstructured environments. The past projects that are most related to the GAUSS proposal are the FP6 URUS project in which a fleet of urban pedestrian autonomous robots was deployed in the city of Barcelona for tasks of guidance and transport, the FP7 CargoANTs project in which we developed autonomous automated guided vehicle and automated truck solutions for the transportation of cargo in ports and terminals, the LOGIMATIC project in which we are developing similar mapping and localization solutions for autonomous navigation of straddle carriers in cargo terminals that include also fusion with GNSS-based position GAUSS GALILEO-1-2017 67 estimates, the ARCAS project in which autonomous aerial manipulators were developed for construction, and AEROARMS in which aerial manipulators are developed for inspection and repair of industrial infrastructures.
